Our Backing Gate Kit features a high strength Aluminium track which chain is connected to it on a series of glass-reinforced rollers. The rollers, which have 6088zz Roller bearings, move easily in the track enabling you to open or close the chain to either the centre or the side of the yard.
An insulated handle enables you to open & close the gate (chains) without needing to turn off the electricity.
The track hangs overhead by either cable or fencing wire which is tensioned by ratchet insulators. Heavy-duty tensioners are required for large rotary dairy yards.
The Kit can be supplied in either manual or electrical operation (Our suggested rule of thumb is Herringbone - Manual Operation, Rotary - Electrical operation)
The manually operated winding wheel features a brake which prevents the track & chains from moving in high winds. 1 revolution moves the track 1 metre.
The overhead cables should be spaced at a maximum of 4 metres. Back Posts should be a minimum of 80nb Pipe with either 50nb Pipe or cable & turnbuckle bracing. Bracing can be eliminated if 100nb to 150nb Pipe is used.
Electrically operated Backing Gate Kits include a Teco 1 HP 1
Phase electric motor and a "Motocario" gearbox. Motocario is recognised
around the world as being the leader of the industry. The control
box is complete with forward and reverse control buttons pre-wired
to the motor. Constructed with high quality parts and workmanship
and used in over 100 dairies worldwide. The Kit does not include
any Steelwork eg: back posts or bracing.
